CPL Foundation Inc. reaffirms commitment to Education with ongoing support to Buk bilong Pikinini Children’s Library Learning Center, Tatana

CPL Foundation Inc. remains committed to strengthening early childhood education through the Buk bilong Pikinini (BbP) Library Learning Centers, and it reaffirmed its ongoing support today with the presentation of a cheque for K110,039.16 to cover the library’s annual operational costs. As a long‑standing Diamond Sponsor and partner of BbP for more than a decade, the Foundation continues to support the Tatana Library Learning Center by funding key operational expenses, including educator salaries, learning resources, special events, and utilities.

Ms. Deborah Alois, CPL Foundation Manager, attended the cheque presentation ceremony and formally presented the cheque to Ms. Leanne Resson, Executive Officer of Buk bilong Pikinini.

In 2023 CPL Foundation signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Buk bilong Pikinini, committing to cover Tatana LLC’s annual operational cost right through to 2027. Under this agreement, CPL Foundation has committed over half a million kina in support and over the course of the partnership, has invested well over one million kina.

In 2025, CPL Foundation invested over K170,000 in education, supporting several initiatives including the Buk bilong Pikinini Tatana Library Learning Center (Tatana LLC). Of the 62 children enrolled at the start of the year, 46 successfully graduated from the early learning program Despite beginning the enrolment period with lower performance indicators, Tatana LLC demonstrated remarkable progress throughout the year—achieving a 95% overall assessment score, ranking among the top five BbP LLCs, and recording a 75% retention rate.
