Late last year, CPL Foundation Inc. supported a Spelling Bee Competition at Sipagul Primary School in Gumine District, Simbu Province, by providing stationery supplies to support the program.
The stationery formed part of the prizes awarded to students who participated in the school’s first-ever Spelling Bee Competition, which involved over 40 students from the Yorua community.
Delivered by Vilousa Hahembe, a finalist in the Young Leader Award category at the 2024 Pride of PNG Women Awards, the Competition was designed to encourage reading, spelling, and confidence among primary school students. Students were also recognized for improvement, sportsmanship, and composure under pressure.
This support aligns with our focus on education and literacy and reflects our approach of contributing practical resources to community-led initiatives.
