PNG’s leading Pharmacy brand, City Pharmacy, conducts health sessions with young readers.
Regular hand washing is one of the best ways to remove germs, avoid getting sick and prevent the spread of germs to others.
This was the message given by CPL Group’s charity arm, CPL Foundation to early learning students of the Buk bilong Pikinini Library at the University of Papua New Guinea.
“We are here today to honour the theme of World Hand Hygiene Day that is ‘Unite for Safety- Clean your hands.’
To learn independence, children must practise basic health and hygiene- and it starts with washing and having clean hands,” said Ms Regil Wanwanji- CPL Foundation Coordinator.
Deworming tablets were also provided to the children.
“Hand Hygiene is also part of Early Childhood learning and it is important for the children to understand and make hand washing a habit for them”, said Ms Miriam Noma, Head Librarian at Buk Bilong Pikinini Library, UPNG.
Ms Noma further added that they are grateful for the continued support from CPL Foundation and City Pharmacy.
The program ended with hand hygiene kits given to the children.
