City Pharmacy Limited launches distance health consultation service, Tele-Health services.
The Tele-Health service will be hosted on video and audio connections, providing health advice to minor symptoms and ailments, and also referrals.
“The Tele-Health service will have on ground supervision through our professionally certified pharmacists, and is the future when no health professional is available in a community,
I am pleased to introduce Ms Necklyn Gubag (Health Extension Officer) and Alpha Bandoc (Pharmacist) who will lead this service here in the National Capital District,” said Ms Sandra Cunningham, CPL’s nursing manager.
The service has been designed according to the Standard Treatment Book for adults and children as approved by the Medical Board of Papua New Guinea.
City Pharmacy’s appointed health professional will be able to follow a 6-step process to provide the Tele-Health service.
The 5-step process is outlined as follows, where the provider/ pharmacist will:
1. Discuss this service with the patient
2. Follow the ‘Engagement Flow Chart’ guidelines
3. Direct the patient to the Tele-Health set up portal station
4. Collect relevant vital signs as indicated by the ‘Engagement Flow Chart’ guidelines; and
5. Dispense and educate the patient on the treatment regime
The Service is FREE for an introductory period while treatment, where necessary will be charged.
The trial period of will begin from the 7 of Sept 2020 at the City Pharmacy located inside the Stop & Shop Downtown Plaza Branch in Port Moresby.

A planned roll out to provincial centres and remote outstations will depend on trial feedback in the National Capital District.
