PNG’s leading retailer, CPL Group has marked the beginning of its festive season shopping for its shoppers with its now annual Light Up PNG Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

“ Firstly we are thankful for our frontline staff from store keepers to our pharmacists and nurses.

They serve families and communities for their health, food and well being needs,” said Sir Mahesh Patel- Founder of the CPL Group and Chair of the CPL Foundation.

Sir Mahesh further stated that on health service delivery, the Group’s pharmacy chain had treated over 250,000 patients to relieve the public health system.

” We are still in the pandemic.

And we need to be united to fight COVID-19 by observing all measures and getting vaccinated. Events such as this encourage peace and harmony in our communities, and I commend CPL for leading the way as a corporate citizen,” said ﹰHon ﹰPowes Parkop- NCD Governor.

The ceremony had its inaugural start in 2020 and charts a new path for Papua New Guinea’s largest retailer with the end of a business turn-a-round strategy in the same year.

The business transformation plan was implemented by current Group CEO Mr Navin Raju under the guidance of CPL Group’s founder Sir Mahesh Patel.

“We thank our shoppers and customers who continue buying from our stores.

This support in energy and revenue enables us to support and sponsor community programs in women empowerment, SME support and connecting our vast farmers network across  PNG to sell fresh produce in our SNS supermarkets,” said Sir Mahesh Patel.

The retailer, through its supermarkets, hardware stores, pharmacies, cafés and boutiques, is currently running national and in-store competitions and discounts for its shoppers.
