“Our pharmacists and nurses become aware of outbreaks and it is usually where we see a relative increase in sales in our City Pharmacy stores for endemics such as malaria, and typhoid amongst others, but for this pandemic, over-the-counter medicine, vitamins and supplements, sanitation wipes, sprays and gels, and surgical masks have seen a recent increase in demand,” said Head Nurse Sandra Cunningham.

CPL Group have also observed its supermarket chain, Stop & Shop, see an increase in its fresh produce sales, mainly with vegetables with immunity boosting properties such as turmeric, lemon, ginger and oranges.

Stop & Shop customers are buying more fresh fruit and vegetables, including sanitation and cleaning products in detergents, soap and surface disinfectants, added Nurse Cunningham.

All CPL shopping outlets continue to remain vigilant and have taken measures to ensure that their customers and employees continue to adopt preventative measures including social distancing and wearing face masks in their outlets and offices.
