The readers feature students from the Motu-Koita village-based library centre, participating in a day as City Pharmacy health workers such as a nurse or a pharmacist.
“CPL Group’s community services arm, CPL Foundation, has been a long-time partner of Bbp’s. Today we are launching the ‘When I grow up, I want to be a pharmacist’ and ‘When I grow up, I want to be a nurse’ readers.
Early Childhood learning is vital for every child as it provides important opportunities to learn and develop as it also supports their transition in school as they further their education,” said Ms Leanne Resson- Executive Manager of BbP
The Readers are designed for children’s reading ability levels from ages 5 to 8 years old.
“CPL Foundation is privileged to support this education initiative. The books not only help the kids to read but enables them to set goals of who they want to be in the future in line with our objectives to educate and empower women and children.
The children had the opportunity to demonstrate basic clinical practices as guided by Nurse Lowen Sihare and Pharmacist Edith Edawi,” said Ms Regil Wanwanji- Coordinator of the CPL Foundation.
Meanwhile, the launch also saw a session for adults where Queenpads reusable pads carried out awareness on menstrual health with more than 20 participants of parents and guardians.
