Port Moresby – November 13, 2024
CPL Foundation Inc. made its fourth and last donation of the year to Chesire disAbility Services Centre, continuing a six-year commitment that began in 2019. The donation was held at Chesire disAbility Services Centre, with General Manager Benson Hahambu present to receive the contribution of food and grocery items from CPL Group’s retail brand, Stop & Shop.
CPL Foundation’s food and grocery donations have provided residents and program participants with essential nutrition and financial savings that strengthen the centre’s services. For the 15 residents of the Chesire Home, balanced meals three times daily have contributed to consistent health outcomes, and no major health issues were reported throughout the year. Additionally, the donations have empowered the centre’s livelihood programs, increasing the number of participating youths with disabilities.
The reach of CPL Foundation’s support extends to over 500 clients benefiting from community-based rehabilitation and physiotherapy services, as well as more than 80 students in the Inclusive School who receive meals during special events. Parents and children with disabilities also receive basic food items, contributing to overall community support. This year, Chesire disAbility Services Centre was able to save approximately K20,000 on food items, reallocating these funds to essential programs and services that directly benefit its members.
In September 2024, Chesire disAbility Services Centre held its Annual Red Feather Fundraiser to honor its sponsors, where CPL Foundation was recognized as a Silver Sponsor. Chesire presented CPL Foundation Inc with a Certificate of Appreciation, acknowledging this impactful support.
