Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities by analysing market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activities.
- Curate and maintain an optimal product mix for the pharmacy category.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source quality products that meet customer demands.
- Establish competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns to drive sales and enhance brand awareness.
- Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers, covering pricing, delivery, and marketing support.
- Build strong relationships with current suppliers and identify new partnership opportunities.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
- Coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure timely replenishments.
- Analyse sales performance and generate actionable insights.
- Prepare regular reports to evaluate category pertormance against set targets.
- Work closely with marketing, operations, and supply chain teams to align strategies.
- Guide store teams on category-specific initiatives to improve sales and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and minimize expired stock to maintain quality and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in category management, buying, or a similar role, preferably in pharmacy or retail.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulatory requirements (preferred).
- Proficiency in data analysis, MS Excel, and inventory management principles.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on business growth and meeting deadlines.
- Bonus: Experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals and knowledge of tender regulations or
FMCG processes.
