Member for AROB The Hon. Peter Tsiamalili Jnr, CPL Group CEO Mr. Navin Raju and CPL Group Management Consultant Mr Ajay Patel at the launching.

CPL Group is proud to sell Bougainville range of Taro at selected SNS shops. This is with support of the Women’s SME association in Bougainville, an organization that has worked with local farmers to get the shipment organized. The subsistence farmers now have accessibility to bigger markets such Port Moresby to sell their products.

“This is a collective effort to bring the fruits (vegetables in this case) of the Bougainvillean farmers’ hard work to a larger market. We are providing a variety to our customers while also supporting local farming communities and families, our farmer’s project source from Tinputz in the Bougainville islands to Tahira in the Central Province,” said Mr Navin Raju, CPL Group CEO.

The partnership has several stakeholders from local farmers, community organizations such as the Bougainville Youth-in-Agriculture and Haku Women’s Collective, start-up tech company E-Didiman Initiative, Consort Shipping, and CPL Group.

“All the partners that brought the root vegetables to our SNS stores have collective objective to assist SMEs in Bougainville and the rest of the country. SNS is working with such SMEs by educating the farmers, assisting them supply and logistics and developing subsistence farmers to become semi commercial operations to ensure that there is continuity of supply.

Jordan Becks who invented the Edidiman Trace System ensures the seamless delivery of the taros from farm to table. This system allows consumers to directly link with the Farmers and cooperatives that supply the products for every shipment. This ensures that the farmer gains exposure, plus value is added to their family farm. The GPS Locations of all Farms and Cooperatives.
