Are you detail-oriented, organized, and eager to take on new challenges? We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Branch Manager to join our Hardware Haus Limited – Lae Retail Branch.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager will be instrumental in maintaining accurate inventory records and promptly identifying and resolving providing support in ensuring smooth retail operations by taking on responsibilities such as overseeing staff or providing customer services on the shop floor. In the absence of the Branch Manager, you will play a pivotal role and oversee the operations of the branch.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring the sales team to maintain company standards in providing excellent customer service.
- Managing/overseeing inventory at the branch.
- Driving sales with sales team (HODs).
- Overseeing various areas of the store including back gate area (dispatch, Warehouse).
- Working closely with stock controllers and GIA clerks (receiving of stocks, checking, follow up on discrepancies with warehouse and local suppliers/category buyers).
- Checking and fixing of branch negatives.
- Conducting mini stock takes with stock controllers as per inventory manager’s instructions.
- Submitting back-order reports to branch managers, buyers and senior managers.
- Managing and planning of corporate sales team (B2B visitation).
- Maintenance check of the company vehicles/forklift (mileage, servicing, fitness).
- Ordering of stocks with branch managers on all fast sellers.
- Coordination of deliveries in a timely manner.
- Doing market price comparisons.
- Maintain of health and safety at the branch.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field.
- Proven 3 -5 years or more of managerial experience, or a similar role.
- Proven experience as a Retail Assistant Manager or similar position.
- Familiarity with financial and customer service principals.
- Leadership, organizational abilities and a people person.
- Proactive approach and knack for solving problems.
