CPL Group signs milestone Memorandum of Understanding with Koroba-Lake Kopiago and Tari-Pori Districts to expand Healthcare and Hardware Services in Hela Province

CPL Group, Papua New Guinea’s leading retailer, is pleased to announce significant steps towards supporting economic growth in Hela Province, with expansion plans into Koroba-Lake Kopiago and Tari-Pori Districts. The plans for expansion were formalized and signed as two separate Memorandum of Understanding documents in Port Moresby recently by CPL Group Chief Executive Officer, Navin Raju, and Minister for Coffee and Member of Parliament for Kopiago-Lake Koroba, Honourable. William Bando among representatives from the Hela Provincial Health Authority, CPL Staff and the Media.

In the first MoU that was signed in partnership with the Tari-Pori District and Hela Provincial Health Authority, City Pharmacy will look at establishing a retail store in Tari Town, offering improved access to quality healthcare, beauty, household and baby products, offering a range similar to other City Pharmacy stores. With the second MoU signed with the Koroba-Lake Kopiago District, Hardware Haus will look to establish a retail store in Koroba Town, offering high quality building and construction, furniture, and home products that Hardware Haus is renowned for. The partnership will also see the District Supply Taro and Sweet Potato to CPL, for it’s Port Moresby-based Stop & Shop Supermarkets.

Mr. Navin Raju, CEO of CPL Group, emphasized the company’s commitment: “We continue to believe in Papua New Guinea’s potential, and we are pleased to enter into this partnership whereby the people of Hela Province will be the biggest benefactors”. “We thank the Honourable MP. Bando and his District Team for willing this partnership on and look forward to getting started on these two projects soon”.

Honourable William Bando, Member of Parliament for Koroba-Kopiago, expressed his optimism about the collaboration: “Our vision is to transform our district through strategic partnerships. With CPL Group’s support, we can build a healthier, more prosperous future for our people of Hela Province.” The expansion project looks to commence in the coming months, marking CPL’s entry for the first time into Hela Province, helping to expand The Group’s Vision to help Papua New Guineans live better and healthier lives.
