The CPL Group of Companies have expanded their support to Port Moresby Nature Park by officially becoming a new sponsor of the Park. This announcement was made this morning with a cheque presentation of K70, 000, by Mr. Navin Raju, CEO of CPL Group of Companies.
Mr. Raju along with CPL Group GM, Group Strategic Marketing, Mr. Kevin Alo and team, visited the Port Moresby Nature Park today as a gesture to show its continuous support to the Nature Park’s conservation efforts in preserving and protecting PNG’s Wildlife and flora.
Prior to today’s event, CPL Group has supported the Nature Park through various weekly donations of vegetables to help keep the Park’s animals nourished.
“One of CPL Groups’ values is to BE RESPONSIBLE; that is to our people, our community and our environment. This partnership is made on our community response strategy to those whom are facing challenges during this pandemic. We work with a cross-section of society from rural farmers to community organisations who have a greater ‘Circle of Influence’ and we believe that Nature Park’s influence is with young citizens and the greater community-and that is exceptional work. We also look forward to working with Nature Park in the future to establish programs that will educate our community on the different species of flora, fauna and also wildlife in our islands”, said Navin Raju, CPL Group CEO.
Port Moresby Nature Park’s General Manager, Mr. David Thompson said CPL’s enhanced Sponsorship to the Park is a huge effort towards supporting local communities and the Nature Park is truly grateful to receive such support.
“We are all about helping our communities and a big part of that is educating locals about the importance of protecting PNG’s wildlife. We can now continue to effectively do that and give an insight into what we do here at the park in terms of wildlife conservation through continuous partnerships & support from local businesses such as this.” added Mr. Thompson.
CPL Group of Companies’ sponsorship adds tremendous value to continuous conservation efforts made by Port Moresby Nature Park in Protecting local Wildlife, and other flora and fauna in PNG. Thanks to CPL, the Nature Park can continue to educate children and the local community, about PNG Wildlife and to develop a love for the natural environment; especially during this COVID-19 pandemic, where it has been difficult & challenging not only for us, but zoos and parks worldwide are facing a similar dilemma.
Port Moresby Nature Park is a charity organisation that relies on grants and donor funding to operate. By visiting the park and joining its Annual Membership Program, you help support the Park’s efforts in preserving PNG’s unique natural environment for future generations, including the Park’s 550 resident animals, majority of which have been surrendered to the Park for care.
