CPL SOURCES LOCAL GARDEN FOOD FROM PNG FARMERS FOR FRONTLINE WORKERS & PATIENTS AT POM GEN & RITA FLYNN COURTS ISOLATION FACILITY.
CPL Group has made a commitment of donating weekly rations of local vegetables and meat worth over K10, 000 to frontline health staff and patients at the Port Moresby General Hospital and the Rita Flynn Courts Isolation Facility.
The medical fraternity is currently overworked and is challenged with the current outbreak of COVID19. Unfortunately the funds allocated to support the frontline workers are not reaching the intended recipients. CPL has long been associated with the health and medical industry and are stepping in to ensure that the frontline workers and the patients remained appropriately nourished.
“PNG vegetables are organic and very nutritious and this is what is currently required to boost immunity and stay healthy. The vegetables are sourced from our local farmers so we are supporting local SMEs at the same time,” said Mr Navin Raju, CPL’s Group CEO.
Raju also mentioned that this is CPL’s opportunity to support local institutions and customers that have been very loyal to our brands over the last 30 years. CPL will continue to support POM General Hospital for the duration of the emergency period.
“All CPL contributions will go towards supporting our medical team, front line clinical staff and patients at Pom Gen Hospital and Rita Flynn Courts Isolation Facility,” said Kathy Johnston MBE, Deputy Chairlady of the Port Moresby General Hospital.
This donation program was established after the Hospital highlighted the difficulties in getting the appropriate and healthy supplies.
